Well Hi there & welcome to Bake & Bloom. The blog of a recently graduated floral design student come enthusiastic home baker.

 I have wanted to be a florist ever since I was a little girl when my mother did courier jobs for the local flower shop. The smell of wet chrysanthemums from that shop still lingers in my dreams. My other passion is baking, I mean I often get up before the just to bake something for the office before I go. My dream is owning my own store called Bake & Bloom where I can share my passion with the world. Flowers & cakes shouldn’t be apart, they belong together…being lovingly arranged by me! My blog is about recipes, my journey as I learn more about the floristry industry & my progress as I work towards my dream.

I live on the Gold Coast, Australia. I live with my spunky redheaded boyfriend fiancé Shane AKA Mr Bake & Bloom who happily consumes all my baking projects.

In case you haven’t already noticed, I am no photographer! I have just upgraded to a Nikon D3000 + Nikon afs Micro 60mm lens  & do my best with a few props & natural lighting. If anything comes out looking professional it is merely a happy coincidence.
