About the Author

Hi! My name is Shannon & I recently graduated from Gold Coast Floristry Management. I have wanted to be a florist ever since I was a little girl when my mother did courier jobs for the local flower shop. The smell of wet chrysanthemums from that shop still lingers in my dreams. My other passion is baking, I mean I often get up an hour early before work just to bake something for the team at work before I go.

When I grow up I want my very own store called bake and bloom where I can share my passion with the world. Flowers & cakes shouldn’t be apart, they belong together…being lovingly arranged by me!

My blog is about recipes, my journey as I learn more about the floristry industry & my progress as I work towards my dream.

I live on the Gold Coast, Australia. I live with my spunky redheaded boyfriend Shane AKA Mr Bake & Bloom who happily consumes all my baking projects.

In case you haven’t already noticed, I am no photographer! I use a little point & shoot camera & do my best with a few props & natural lighting. If anything comes out looking professional it is merely a happy coincidence. I am always striving to improve my photography skills however & I am in the throws of researching to purchase a DSLR in 2010.
