The journey of a floral design student come self taught baker.

Hi! My name is Shannon & I am an Australian girl studying to become a florist at Gold Coast Floristry Management. I have wanted to be a florist ever since I was a little girl but my other passion is baking, I mean I often get up an hour early before work just to bake something for the team before I go. When I grow up I want my very own store called bake and bloom where I can share my passion with the world. Flowers & cakes shouldn’t be apart, they belong together…being lovingly arranged by me!

My blog is about recipes, my journey as I learn more about the floristry industry & my progress as I work towards my dream.

I live on the Gold Coast, Australia. It’s hot all the time (which is probably why my macarons never work) I live with my spunky redheaded boyfriend who happily consumes all my self inflicted projects.

In case you haven’t already noticed, I am no photographer! I use a little point & shoot camera & do my best with a few props & natural lighting. If anything comes out looking professional it is merely a happy coincidence. I am always striving to improve my photography skills however & I am in the throws of researching to purchase a DSLR in 2010.
