Flower Auction Action

This weekends homework:

Draw 3 bouquets & list the items needed to create them

  • 1 Stroussed bouquet
  • 1 Modern bouquet
  • 1 Bouquet of students choice

Homework

I was like a kid in a candy store, I went for whites & greens in the modern arrangement, a luxurious stroussed iris bouquet & a romantic mixed bunch in pinks with peony & freesia (Basically my dream wedding bouquet)

Sue & Krishna are clever ladies, they bribe me into doing my homework. They took Tina & I to the flower auctions & let us buy our flowers for our 3 bouquets. I felt like a stockbroker…BUY..BUY..BUY! It was a rush man. We got these cool secret bidding buttons under your table & we walked around a giant cool-room to see the stock before the auction, excellent.

It was totally worth getting up at 3am for (it started at 5am but it was ages away & I am the kind of girl that needs an hour before being seen by human eyes)

Stay tuned to see my creations later this week, I suspect they may be pretty special.

Picture time! I look like a tourist wherever I go these days, it’s a little scary actually. People stare & everything.

Other peoples purchases, I didn't buy half as many as that

Suprisingly getting up wasn’t that hard. Staying awake through a 8 hour working day in the office afterwards was a challenge though.

OMG! Are those pink peonies? I adore them. What fabulous flower photos- I am in heaven. And I agree about the lotus flowers.
Can’t wait to see what you make!

Yes they are pink peonies, they have to grow them in Tasmania in Australia & they don’t last long in the Queensland climate but they’re worth every precious second.

I think those are honey bear sunflowers! I grew them in my garden for the first time this year and fell in love. In fact, my second blog post was all about them. :) Aren’t they fabulous!

I think we call them “teddy” sunflowers here but I assume they’re the same thing. They are gorgeous.

I finally found time to make it to your blog!

O.K. I realize this post is wayyyyyy back there, but I had to comment on those “lotus thingees”. I am in love with them. As in, I want to marry them. I been around the cutting garden a time or two but I have NEVER seen those things. The colour was GREAT. I am going to marry them and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop me. Being a florist is a dream job of mine. You lucky girl! And funny too. Lucky AND funny. Good job!
